Fossil Nate Chronograph Black Dial Black Ion-plated JR1401 Men’s Watch
We have several racing enthusiasts in our village and they all get together to put up a car and bike show each summer. This year it was held last Sunday, along with my friend Jeff, I thoroughly enjoyed the rally. Jeff is a real sports buff, he was absolutely dressed for the occasion in jeans and leather jacket, sporting a big, chunky black dialled watch. Made from black ion-plated steel, the Fossil Nate Chronograph Black Ion-plated wristwatch is a monochrome dark piece. At 50mm case width, this is one huge and beefy watch suited to large-wristed men. Being completely black, this piece may not be to everyone’s choice but it surely appeals to the macho man in you.
The all-black watch was a cool timepiece, and Jeff could carry it off quite well considering it was pretty huge in size, certainly not meant for small wristed men like me. The round, ion plated stainless steel case encloses a black dial which is covered with a scratch resistant mineral crystal.
The stick indices are in a lighter shade of grey as are the Arabic numeral hour markers. A date window is positioned at the 4 o’clock marker. Like most other Fossil watches this one also has a reliable quartz movement.

And since it is fitted with an ion plated stainless steel bracelet it could be worn while swimming or while performing daily chores around water. Being a sturdily built watch, it can easily take the shocks and abrasions associated with daily use.
Chronograph functionality is one of the useful features of the Fossil Nate Chronograph JR1401. I thought the watch dial was well proportioned to accommodate the three sub dials, namely the 60 second, 30 minute and 24 hours that are used for the chronograph. Due to its large size, the chronograph pusher placed above the crown is easy to use.
Overall, the Fossil Nate Chronograph offers good clarity in reading the time, thanks to the large face. It is a sturdy piece that could easily serve as an everyday watch. However, reading the time in the dark may be a tad difficult as there is no luminosity on the hands or markers. I’d put the Fossil Nate Chronograph Black Dial Black Ion-plated JR1401 Men’s Watch as an excellent day watch to complement your outfit.
